400 gamers gathered to compete in
Unreal 2003, Warcraft 3, Call of Duty, America's Army,
RavenShield, and yes.... even the outstandingly outdated,
antiquated, buggy engined and very boring Counter Strike.
Guys... Medal of Honor... Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, all much
better games than Counter Strike. You guys should get out of the
house and discover your world a bit there.
The beer was cheap at 2.50, the
prizes were excellent. DFI was there giving out LanParty
motherboards along with Pentium 4 chips graciously provided by
Intel. These DFI LanParty boards have slots that light-up in
Ultra Violet light and even come with a strap kit to transport
your PC and your keyboard.
Optowrite was there handing out DVD burners as prizes. ATI was
there handing out their latest video cards as prizes also. We
actually had gamers dancing the BadgerBadger dance to win a
Radeon 9800 XT. Hilarious. You can see them in the videos.
The whole event had televised
segments on two television channels, along with a Call of Duty
contest between personalities of these two television channels.
