CompuSmartLAN 1 pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the first CompuSmartLAN event and it was pretty cool! The CompuSmartLAN should get much bigger the next time. This place has an awesome location although it felt like you were going to get mugged either getting there or just before entering that scary door. The entrance didn't look like it was going anywhere special. We climbed a few stairs and there it was, like an awesome underground loft ready for a rave, only it was setup with tables ready to handle a horde of gamers.

This was our second LAN in a week, driving down to Toronto only one week-end after we'd been at the PureLAN6. We were still tired, but we had lots of Bawls to keep us running at high speed all week-end. In the van we had an awesome setup so we could enjoy ourselves for 6 hours on the road. We had a 400watt Eliminator power converter that we plugged into the cigarette lighter. On the power converter we plugged in a UPS. On that UPS we had our wireless router and 3 laptops. That just simply fucking rocked!! We had our own mobile wireless LAN in the van to share files and play games. We enjoyed a few games of Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge and had a blast while travelling.

In our room at the Alexandra hotel we had an internet connection which was supplied by an RJ-45 jack. So we plugged in the UPS again along with the wireless router and once again we had our own wireless LAN in our hotel room. Our wireless LAN was not open, it was relatively secure from outsider unsuspected usage.

We enjoyed Terminator 3 on the projector screen while stuck in a sofa with some chips, drank Bawls and had a good time. Downtown Toronto was OK, we got to eat some Taco Bell which was special in itself because we had never eaten Taco Bell before since this restaurant chain does not exist in Quebec. We really enjoyed the hot dog stands right there on every sidewalk, a guy in a small tent just selling huge hot dogs for 4 bucks. We had beef and spicy Italian sausage and it was so good it simply rocked, just like my intestines the next day.

Here are the pictures from the LQJR PureLAN6!

Guys danced and looked ridiculous, simply to have a chance to win a DFI LanParty motherboard. The winner had to win it, he was as pathetic as his box. You should have seen the crazy treasure hunt Creative organized, all items very hard to find such as old crappy games that nobody plays anymore and would have little chance of having brought them at all at the LanParty.

Darren from Tom's Hardware was there and we brought him some poutine so he could try it out. After talking with him at the LAN ETS 2004 and exchanging stories about weird food we decided we just had to give him some of our own weird food. It was from McDonald's, but that's what was open at that hour.

400 gamers gathered to compete in Unreal 2003, Warcraft 3, Call of Duty, America's Army, RavenShield, and yes.... even the outstandingly outdated, antiquated, buggy engined and very boring Counter Strike. Guys... Medal of Honor... Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, all much better games than Counter Strike. You guys should get out of the house and discover your world a bit there.

The beer was cheap at 2.50, the prizes were excellent. DFI was there giving out LanParty motherboards along with Pentium 4 chips graciously provided by Intel. These DFI LanParty boards have slots that light-up in Ultra Violet light and even come with a strap kit to transport your PC and your keyboard.

Optowrite was there handing out DVD burners as prizes. ATI was there handing out their latest video cards as prizes also. We actually had gamers dancing the BadgerBadger dance to win a Radeon 9800 XT. Hilarious. You can see them in the videos.

The whole event had televised segments on two television channels, along with a Call of Duty contest between personalities of these two television channels.

LAN ETS 2003: mission drunk frag

This weekend I am going to the ETS LAN party at the ETS school (École de Technologie Supérieure). I am going Friday and coming back Sunday before supper. I'm brining my computer, my screen and all the crap to make my gaming experience possible.

There will be tournaments but I am not participating in the tournaments since they are for shitty Counterstrike, Warcraft 3 with it's lame game interface and Unreal 2003 which I have never played and will start playing only when I get there. :) I am surprised there is no Medal of Honor tournament.

Also It will be nice to get away from the woman and her constant nagging for sex, sex, sex and more sex. Shit, a guy can only come a limited number of dozens of times a day. The rest from sex will be good.

There is everything, 100mbit LAN, powerful internet connection, a few meals provided in the price, sleeping area, showers and a bar to get drunk and play PC games while smashed, which is totally awesome and comparable to riding the bike drunk.

I'm going there friday evening, I'm going to plug in my PC and then go get drunk to the point of not remembering how to plug in the PC anymore, and come back to play. I'm going to show those underage gamers how drunk gaming is done.

I am the drunken gaming master. The alcohol is my strength. The beer is my gaming spinach. The drunkenness transforms me into a death match terminator, fragging the weak, the young, the wimps, the wannabes and all the rest, ripping them to frag-ments. I become an alcoholic fragoholic game dominator. I frag people away from their PC into a frustrating stupor of irrecoverable hopeless inferiority, twisting their brain into maddening uselessness, trapped in a hellhole of despair. I kill all those pussy ass bitches. I will anal frag-rape you all. When you'll stand up from your chair to cry back home into mommy's arms like a little school girl slapped senseless by her pimp master of darkness, your ass will be stamp branded "Owned by Botrax" and you will enjoy it by force and call me your master for the rest of your life like a nice obedient bitch that I will have submitted you into. This week-end you will suffer serious ownage.

If I don't drink and game I get whipped. :) When I drink maybe I get whipped anyways and maybe I see it otherwise and think I overtake everyone. Hmmm

Who gives a shit anyways, this week-end will fucking rock!

Joke similar to a joke on Ukresistance.co.uk in which they state that the rain looks good in Metal Gear Solid 2I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead expansion and it's very nice, but you must have A LOT of RAM to run this baby. I checked in my Task Manager while the game was running and it was using 190megs of RAM and 264megs of Virtual Memory. That's too much to be enjoyable if you have only 256megs of RAM. It helps a bit if you reduce the AGP APERTURE SIZE to a lower number in the motherboard BIOS. 32 is much better than 128 or even 64. And with 128megs on the video board, I don't think I need that much RAM reserved for AGP textures. I'm going to buy another 256megs of DDR-333 this week. Should run fine then.... and with the Geforce4 it is very tasty.

It's cheaper at 40 bucks and it's a good thing it's not more expensive than that, because it would have felt like a rip-off. It's very nice and very enjoyable as a game, but I wanted more. :)

Very nicely done, but a bit short. Graphics are beautiful and a bit more demanding on the machine than Medal of Honor Allied Assault. This baby uses up more RAM too, but I was fine with my 512megs of DDR and my Geforce4.

In Spearhead you get to occasionally use artillery guns and it's quite a rush to use them on incoming trucks full of people..ahahah. Such amusing abuse of power. You'll get your share of tank busting also.

There are a few new weapons like a 46round sub-machine gun which is quite nice, and a 10 round sniper rifle. In the last mission you get to commandeer a tank to drive it and fire with it! You control where you go with the tank with the movement keys and aim with the mouse. You can switch between the main cannon and the machine gun. This is an original touch and adds something very nice to the game.

Sometimes you have to work with your squad, and it makes it that much more fun. In all, the expansion is nicely executed but a bit short. There seems too many people who have serious bugs with the expansion, it seems there is a bug to kill a tank and you can't destroy it because of the bug. This is very nasty and very surprising that they released the game with this bug, especially when it seems that many people have the same problem.

Quake3 Beryllium server is online!

An attempt to mix Quake3 with some sexual inuendo in hopes to reach interests of the majority of the populationWe have setup our Quake3 server! It has a Beryllium  MOD to spice things up a bit.

With the Beryllium MOD all the weapons fire more rapidly and you can use the grapple to hook yourself to the wall and the ceiling. My settings are to spawn with lots of grenades and lots of BFG ammunition. The grenades last 10 seconds too. :)

I'm not sure how to get the ammunition packs to give more ammo than normal and I can't seem to get the runes going, so if anyone wants to help me with this please drop me a mail!

You can connect to games.chickenorfish.com port 27960 and just let the server send you the Beryllium PK3 file, it's not even 200k. You have to set your Quake3 on Auto-Download and you'll be fine.

To use the grapple you have to type /bind r "+button5" in the console and the R key will be your grapple.

There are 3 custom maps and just let the server send them to you and you'll be fine to play them.

Xbox live with Mech Assault is pretty cool!

Lambrusco bought an Xbox-live kit along with MechAssault and I played at his house this week-end. It's pretty groovy. The headset is simply an earphone with a microphone on the left side, and it plugs into a gizmo that uses a memory card slot on the controller. It's somewhat quirky if you have glasses, because the headset rests on your ears just over your regular eye glasses. You have a buddy list somewhat like ICQ with authorizations and a screen to see who is online. If you didn't have a phone and had to make long distance phone calls, you could use your Xbox to talk to someone long distance if they had an Xbox live kit. The only thing, it would be hard to schedule phone calls..ahhaahh

Mech Assault is pretty cool, it's like MechWarrior that has been "arcadeded". They used the Inner Sphere and Clan names to represent different weapon variations on some mechs, but they have the real mech designs, except that they all have 360degree torso twist! For example the Mad Cat is there, and there is also a Timberwolf. We all know that in Fasa they are the same mech, one an Inner Sphere name and the other the Clan name. But in Mech Assault they just mean a different weapon setup. Get ready to get early arthritis with Mech Assault. Both analog sticks are used and the right trigger to fire. Try it out for a while. Your right thumb and index fingers will be nicely arthritisized after 30 minutes.

When you start a multiplayer game, you get players and you can have everybody talking at the same time to decide as a gang what type of match it's going to be, what kind of mechs people should use. For example, as a gang you might decide to all use Elementals and everybody is talking or screaming over the microphone to decide.

Mech Assault also has single player mission mode which is quit like MechWarrior.

XboxLive kit will not work with certain MOD chips, so be warned. BE WARNED I SAY!! That's how I have my own Xbox live kit now. I bought from a friend who prefers his MODchip over Xboxlive. Get a MOD chip that can switch between MODded and non-MODded or something.

I sayz tiz much fun, yes.

What the fuck is the attraction? Computer rendered boobs....whoopdyfuckingdoo. If I want porn you're better off downloading with Imesh from the internet for free rather than paying 80 bucks to see fake rendered boobs in a BMX context that makes no sense. Remember the movie Crash with James Spader? Sex in BMX is like sex in car crashes....it doesn't make any more sense. It's an effort for originality because I've never this before, but I still give it an F, F for "Fuckin' stupid".

I just finished Sega GT 2002

I just finished Sega GT 2002 on my Xbox. Somehow I don't have an outstanding feeling of accomplishment. It was too easy in the second season and it was too short. I noticed that my Accelerate button on my S-Type gamepad has multiple levels of intensity if I press hard or not on it. It's interesting because I thought that type of button was of ON/OFF type. Once I finished the first season, everything was too easy. I bought a Lotus Elise Exige, boosted it and even the Viper was no challenge for me. In Stage 5 I was just goofin' off, taking my time so much there was not challenge anymore. Hope there will be expansions for this.
